THE COMPANY RAUMPLUS

raumplus manufactures customized sliding doors, room dividers, and closet systems. As a family company headquartered in Bremen/Germany we are able to produce flexibly, from one-off pieces to large quantities.

Our successful history goes back three generations – from the first sliding door, built in 1986 by family head and company founder Jürgen Guddas, through development into a global brand under Carsten and Uta Bergmann (née Guddas) to the illuminated S1200 LED sliding door developed by his granddaughter, industrial designer Nane-Sophie Bergmann, to mark the company’s 30th anniversary. Under the management of current CEO Carsten Bergmann raumplus is today at home in all corners of the globe, with partners in 70 countries, including shares in businesses in the USA, Canada, Russia, Switzerland and Poland. Despite the brand’s ongoing success and growth, raumplus continues to stand for the ethical principles that have been an integral brand component since the company was founded – customer-friendly service, diversity, uncompromising quality, and competence.

PHILOSOPHY

With its various range of products raumplus is able not only to produce individual and tailor-made built-in closets and room dividers. raumplus stands for clever and innovative room solutions beyond standards and usual products.

Anyone can follow standards; this has never encouraged us. We have always taken up the challenge to fulfill customer wishes 100%.

We realize anything for our customers, however taking into account fair trading and behavior. We thus attach great importance to follow the credo of our company founder Jürgen Guddas: to be a fair, respectful and honest Hanseatic businessman and to behave in this manner vis-à-vis our suppliers and many qualified employees.

Sustainability - our continual challenge

Maximum product protection with minimum environmental impact – this is our credo when it comes to packaging. It goes without saying that we believe that not only our closet and room divider systems but also our planet’s resources should be protected. To this end, Interseroh GmbH regularly carries out audits based on the Fraunhofer Institute’s UMSICHT study to identify how much of a contribution recycling of our transport packaging is making to saving primary resources and avoiding greenhouse gas emissions. The »resources SAVED by recycling« study and our personal Resource Protection Certificates confirm that we were able to achieve new best performances over the last years. For example: by returning raumplus packaging to the recycling flow we were able to avoid 20,903 kilograms of greenhouse gases and save 177 metric tons of resources in 2016. This is equivalent to the weight of 417 apple trees – an image that is as inspiring as it is interesting and motivates us to continue to work hard to act responsibly. Towards our customers and the environment.

Packaging

We use cardboard instead of foils or foams for our packagings as far as possible. 80% of the produced corrugated board already consists of recycled paper. Cardboard packaging waste is shredded and used as filling material.

Travelling

As far as flights cannot be avoided, we pay attention to low-emission flight bookings.

LED Lamps

We are saving global warming gases by switching to LED lamps in our offices, production and warehouse.

Recycling

The corrugated board we use for our packaging is 100% recyclable.

Printing products

Our main brochure »Smart Sliding & More« is printed climate-neutral and with FSC certified paper.

Durable aluminium

The energy required to produce aluminium is high. As a material, however, it is 100% recyclable and its reusability endless.

Image pictures

By visualizing our image images using CGI technology, we don't waste material or resources on elaborate photo shoots.

Reusable instead of disposable

We use in our canteen and at company parties exclusively reusable dishes.

Unleaded Mirrors

For our doors and interior systems we only use mirrors without lead content.

Awards and honors

raumplus works together with renowned designers and renowned research institutes to develop and test new products, technical innovations and new manufacturing methods. raumplus certified with the label »Furniture. Made in Germany«

We were able to successfully certify five product categories!

We are proud to announce that we are certified with the label: Furniture. Made in Germany! The intelligent room solutions and products produced by raumplus have passed the tests of the German Institute for Furniture Technology (DIM) according to the RAL guidelines by the German Association for Furniture Production (DGM). Walk-in wardrobes, built-in wardrobes, room dividers, chests of drawers and room doors with the label were certified.

Since 2020, the »Furniture Made in Germany« label has stood for the high quality of German furniture manufacturers, for innovation, durability and healthy living. The new label was defined by the renowned German Institute for Quality Assurance and Labelling (RAL) and is laid down in RAL-RG 0191.

»With the label: Furniture. Made in Germany, we can send a clear signal in exports, but also expand our market position in the DACH region. For us, it is a clear commitment to Germany and Bremen as a business location,« says Carsten D. Bergmann, Managing Director of raumplus.

raumplus customers can be sure that they are buying quality products made in Germany.

The raumplus product categories room dividers, walk-in wardrobes, built-in wardrobes, chests of drawers and room doors have now been successfully awarded. What does this mean for raumplus customers? One thing above all: raumplus customers can be sure that they are buying quality products made in Germany. Or to put it in the words of the Association of the German Furniture Industry: »We have thus introduced certified proof of quality furniture from Germany«.

Which products exactly have been certified?

In the made-to-measure furniture sector, all raumplus products. Because each product is individually manufactured according to the customer's wishes. These are the made-to-measure wardrobes, here meant as walk-in wardrobes or other wardrobes & solutions. Built-in wardrobes, our masters for practical storage space.

Our chests of drawers and sideboards or the lowboard. The raumplus room dividers and sliding doors. Whether with LED light, as a sliding TV door or a personalised digital print variant. Last but not least, the raumplus room doors, such as the Slim Door Slim Line, also available as a version with a fanlight and side panel.

Furniture Made in Germany. A label, more than just a sales argument!

Among German manufacturers, the popularity of the DGM label is growing. raumplus is pleased to be one of the first manufacturers to receive the award. Furthermore, raumplus will continue to invest in process optimisation in order to successfully master the next audits.

Inspected in the audit were not only the production and storage halls, but also the test equipment and results, as well as the product presentation, the showroom, the dealers and suppliers. A high degree of care is taken by DIM during the certification process. Supply chains and product policy are examined in detail. Price calculation is also part of the audit to determine the production share of German and foreign components.

»We hope to be able to show our partners once again that we are serious about our commitment to quality and our location. With the label, we want to show raumplus customers that we not only claim to be Made in Germany, but have also proven it,« says Kathrin Strauß, Head of Marketing at raumplus.
